Honoree David Agsteribbe

David Agsteribbe grew up in Medford, New York. He enlisted in the United States Army, leaving for boot camp the morning after finishing at Patchogue Medford High School. David quickly embraced Army life, and after completing Airborne School, RIP, and SEAR training, David was recruited by and assigned to the 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment-Delta (1st SFOD-D). Volunteering for Operation Acid Gambit in Panama (1989), David received a Purple Heart and POW medal for his brave actions as a member of the elite Combat Applications Group (CAG). 

In 1991 while attached to the Presidential Protection Unit, David received his second Purple Heart for wounds received while protecting a United States Senator in Iraq. In December 1993, David was medically discharged from the United States Army at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel (0-5).

He lives in Hampton Bays with his wife Mary and has three children: Mia, Michael, and Trevor, and proudly serves as Finance Officer for the Hampton Bays American Legion, Hand-Aldrich Post 924.
