Details:
On Monday, February 9th 2026 at about 9:00PM, a vehicle was stopped by Southampton Town Police for a traffic violation on West Montauk Hwy in Hampton Bays. Upon further investigation the driver, Erick ChimboRochina, age 28 of Hampton Bays, NY, was found to be operating while impaired by drugs. Mr. ChimboRochina, was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for arrest processing. He was charged with one count of Driving while Impaired by Drugs (misdemeanor) and multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. Mr. ChimboRochina was held overnight to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment.
