On Saturday, March 21, 2026, at approximately 10:48PM., the Southampton Town Police Department Communications Division received a report of a single-vehicle motor vehicle accident in the vicinity of Bay Avenue East and Lynn Avenue, Hampton Bays, New York.
Patrol units responded and determined that the driver of the vehicle, while operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition, left the travel portion of the roadway and struck a guide rail causing damage to the vehicle. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.
Consequently, Peter C. Krugman, 60 years of age, of Hampton Bays, New York, was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for processing.
He was charged with two counts of Driving While Intoxicated, misdemeanors, and other traffic offenses. He was processed and held for morning arraignment.
