On Friday March 27th, 2026 at approximately 7:20am a Southampton Town Police Patrol Officer observed a 2011 Toyota Camry being driven eastbound on Sunrise Highway in the vicinity of North Road, Hampton Bays, where the driver was committing several traffic violations. A traffic stop and investigation revealed that the operator, Fernando Roberto Curillo Lucero, age 38, of North Bellport, NY, was operating the vehicle while in an impaired condition. Mr. Curillo Lucero was charged with operating a vehicle while impaired by a combined influence of alcohol and drugs, unlicensed operation, and several other Vehicle and Traffic Law Violations. He was transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for processing then brought to Southampton Town Justice Court for arraignment.
