 On March 30, 2026, The Southampton Town Police in conjunction with the Southampton Town Highway Department will be launching the Canoe Place Traffic Reduction Program aimed at addressing the growing concern of traffic congestion in our community. As in previous years, on weekdays at 5:30 AM the traffic light at the intersection of Montauk Hwy. and Canoe Place Rd. will be set to flash and there will be no left turns permitted at that intersection. We believe that this traffic detail makes a significant impact in reducing traffic congestion within our community. We encourage everyone to support these efforts by adhering to traffic laws, practice defensive driving, and be mindful of pedestrians and other road users.
