On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at approximately 11:38 p.m., a vehicle was observed traveling west on Shinnecock Road near Norbury, Hampton Bays, New York, failing to maintain its lane of travel. A Southampton Town Police Officer stopped the vehicle, and upon further investigation, the driver, identified as Valentin Blas-Gonzalez, age 28, of Hampton Bays, New York, was found to be operating the motor vehicle while intoxicated.
Mr. Blas-Gonzalez was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for processing. He was charged with two counts of Driving While Intoxicated (misdemeanor), and other vehicle and traffic law violations.
Mr. Blas-Gonzalez was held overnight and is scheduled to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment.
