On Saturday, January 10th, 2026, at about 9:20pm the Southampton Town Police responded for the report of a single car, motor vehicle accident on Squires Ave East Quogue. Upon arrival the driver, Melinda Hayward 46 years old of Westhampton, was interviewed and further investigation revealed she operated her vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Mrs. Hayward was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for processing where she was held for morning arraignment.

Mrs. Hayward was charged with Driving While Intoxicated(Misdemeanor)
