Details: On Monday March 30th, 2026, at 11:40 PM a Southampton Town Police officer on patrol observed a 2015 Ford traveling westbound on CR.39 near Magee Street in Southampton at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted and further investigation done by officers found that vehicles driver a Rafael Hernandez Velasco, age 40 of Corona NY was operating in an intoxicated condition. He was arrested at the scene and then transported to police headquarters for processing. Hernandez Velasco is charged with Driving While Intoxicated (Misdemeanor) and several traffic violations. He was held overnight for morning arraignment at Southampton Town Justice Court.
