[ARCHIVED] Come Feed the Ducks! Duck Feeding Program

Come Feed the Ducks!

Duck Feeding Program

The Trustees are implementing a Duck Feeding Program for the black ducks. Black ducks overwinter on Long Island and migrate north to their breeding grounds in Canada. This time of the year is critical for these birds as they need to acquire the appropriate nourishment for the migration. For the past 7 weeks, the bays have been frozen, preventing the ducks from eating and preparing for this long flight.  We need your help!  Please participate by picking up the feed at the Marine Maintenance Barn on Jackson Avenue.

Feed is available at the Marine Maintenance Barn on Jackson Avenue. Please fill out the log form.  Any Questions … Contact the Trustees Office Monday – Friday 8:30A.M. to 4:00P.M. (631) 287-5717  OR  the Bay Constables Office on the weekends (631)702-2268.
