Schools and universities have a unique opportunity to share the recycling message with hundreds of students. The Town of Southampton offers free in-class recycling presentations designed to educate and engage students of all ages.

What Can Be Recycled at School
Paper Products
- Manuals
- Notebooks
- Phone books
- Softcover books (any bound item that is not a hardcover)
- Thick paperbacks
- Workbooks
No special preparation is needed if the book’s binding is stapled or glued—simply place it in your recycling bin. If it has a spiral, wire, or plastic binding, please remove the binding before recycling the pages.
Thin Film Plastics
Schools can also recycle thin film plastics through the Town’s recycling program—including grocery bags, clean baggies, and bubble wrap.
