Details: On Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at approximately 9:15 AM Southampton Town Police received a 911 call from a woman reporting she was pushed to the ground from behind and her pocket book was stolen. The incident reportedly took place on North Phillips Avenue, Speonk in the vicinity of Windermere Court at approximately 9:00 AM. Southampton Town Police Patrol Officers, the CRU Unit, Detectives and Westhampton Beach Village Police Officers responded to the area to investigate. Suffolk County Police Department’s helicopter and Suffolk County Sheriff’s K-9 responded to assist in attempting to locate a suspect. No weapon was reported to be used or displayed in the incident. At this time the investigation is continuing.
