Details:
On Friday, January 2nd, 2026 at about 10:14 PM, a vehicle was stopped by Southampton Town Police for multiple traffic violations while traveling on E Montauk Hwy by Canoe Place Rd in Hampton Bays. Upon further investigation the driver, Arthur Innes, age 81 of Hampton Bays, NY, was found to be operating while intoxicated by alcohol. Mr. Innes, was arrested and transported to Southampton Town Police Headquarters for arrest processing. He was charged with one count of Driving while Intoxicated (misdemeanor) and Multiple violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. Mr. Innes was held overnight to appear in Southampton Town Justice Court for morning arraignment.
