Dance with Project LEAP -

The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau and Peconic Ballet Theatre will be hosting Dance with Project LEAP (Learn, Empower, Achieve, Perform) every Thursday from 4:30pm – 6:00pm (March 16^th – June 15^th) at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road. Class will not be held on April 13^th. Professional dance instructors from the Peconic Ballet Theatre will teach Hip Hop and Ballet while encouraging exercise, confidence building, creativity, and having fun! Previous experience is not necessary to join. Dance with Project LEAP is open to grades 1 - 6 and the cost to attend is $125 for the entire session. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament -

The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau will be hosting their annual 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on Friday, March 31, 2023 from 7:00pm - 10:00pm at Southampton Youth Services (SYS), 1370A Majors Path in Southampton. Sign-in and warm up drills will be held from 6:00pm – 6:45pm. Tournament is open to grades 5 – 12 and prizes will be awarded to the winning teams in middle and high school brackets. Space is limited and team pre-registration of $30 is required by Monday, March 27, 2023. Each team member must submit a completed registration form along with payment ($10.00/player) to the Southampton Youth Bureau located at 655 Flanders Road, Flanders, NY 11901 OR by registering and paying $10.00/player online at
www.southamptontownny.gov/YBpayment.

Creative Arts Contest: Hope & Recovery -

The Town of Southampton Youth Bureau and East End Thrive are now accepting submissions for their Creative Arts Contest! This year’s theme is “Hope & Recovery”. Artists are encouraged to share their interpretation through art of what Hope & Recovery looks like. Accepted art submissions include photography, graphic art, sculpture, and free-hand. The contest is open to ages 10 – 25 and participants must reside or attend school within the Town of Southampton. Artwork will be judged on quality, creativity, and presentation based on the artist’s interpretation of “Hope & Recovery”. All art entries (maximum of two entries per artist) must be dropped off at the Southampton Youth Bureau’s main office at the Flanders Youth Center, 655 Flanders Road or East End Thrive, 110 Mill Road Suites A & B by Friday, May 19th. Participating artists are invited to bring their families and friends to attend the final exhibition at the Southampton Cultural Center, 25 Pond Lane on Friday, June 2nd from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Prizes will be awarded to the “Best Art Piece” in age categories of 10 – 13, 14 – 18, and 19 – 25. Band Applications Now Available! 20^th Anniversary Battle of the Bands - 

Band applications are now available for the Southampton Youth Bureau’s 20^th Anniversary Battle of the Bands. This year’s competition will be held on Friday, June 9^th (Rain Date: Friday, June 16^th) from 8:00pm – 11:00pm at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays. All applications and demo music must be received by 4:00pm on Friday, May 12^th 2023 and can be sent or dropped off to: BATTLE OF THE BANDS – YOUTH BUREAU, Southampton Youth Bureau, 655 Flanders Road, Flanders, NY 11901. Band applications and demo music may also be emailed to Peter Strecker at pstrecker@southamptontownny.gov.

Qualifying bands must have at least one high school student who resides in the Town of Southampton, and a band must consist of a minimum of 3 performing musicians.
