The Peconic Bay Community Housing Fund

On November 8th, voters will have the ability to create 
The Peconic Bay Community Housing Fund

The primary source of funding will be from a 0.5% real estate transfer fee paid 
by the buyers of homes in the Town. (Same as the Community Preservation Fund) 
Current homeowners do not pay any fees toward the fund. 


Affordable Housing Builds a Sustainable Community and Creates a Better Town:

  • Provides Housing For the Town’s Essential Workers including First Responders, Educators, Healthcare, Municipal, Retail, Restaurant and Hospital Workers.
  • Strengthens the Town’s Economy by ensuring that workers live near their jobs, that local employers have access to the best and most skilled employees, and that the spending of residents’ income stays in the town. 

  • Supports Town Residents of all ages and stages of life including young people who are just starting out, young families with children who need stability, and seniors who wish to securely age in place.
