The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is reminding drivers of the dangers of hot cars and children.  According to their stop hot car deaths campaign, leaving a child in a hot car, even for just a few minutes can end in tragedy.  The inside of a car can heat up another 20 degrees in just ten minutes.

The NHTSA also recommends locking your car at all times when not occupied because each year 25 % of children who die from vehicular heatstroke do so from crawling inside an unlocked vehicle and getting trapped inside.  So far this year, that number is up to 50%.
