PRESS RELEASE Feb. 06, 2019Contact: Connie Conway(631) 702-1743
The Southampton Town Opioid Addiction and Recovery Committee debuted a new Public Service Announcement in its continuing fight against Opioid Addiction at the “Stories from Suffolk” opioid forum at the Greek Orthodox Church, February 6, 2019. Supervisor Jay Schneiderman and Police Chief Steven Skrynecki presented the PSA during a panel discussion on opioid addiction, sponsored by Suffolk County.
The 60-second PSA warns of the deadly dangers of fentanyl and how just “one try and you could die”. The Five East End Town Police Chiefs participated in the PSA and each has a speaking role geared toward their communities. The PSA also features former News 12 Anchor Drew Scott, who lost his granddaughter to an overdose in 2017 and several students from Westhampton High School.
The PSA will be shown on cable TV, local government channels and will be featured on several Town and school websites. It was produced pro-bono by American Portfolios in Holbrook, NY.
