The goal of the Engineering Division is to ensure that development within the Town complies with various required standards for design and construction. In accomplishing this, the division’s primary responsibilities include efforts to:
Review all subdivision site plan applications from the Planning Division.
Prepare estimates for the cost of engineering improvements to establish performance bonds and review fees. The bonds are then reviewed during construction.
Conduct inspections for certain certificates of occupancy.
Administer various capital projects throughout the Town.
Prepare recommendations for the Road Review Committee for appropriate improvements to private roads.
Work with the Towns Planning Division to develop Old Filed Maps.
Manage the Highway Department inspections of building lots for flood determinations.
Manage the States Town Law Section 200 process to bring private roads into the local highway system.
