Permits for Waste Carters are required by Southampton Town Law: 

 Code Chapter 205-7.

The Town in an effort to protect and promote the health, safety, and welfare of its residents and complying with requirements of the New York State Solid waste Management Act and implementing of the Town of Southampton Solid Waste Management Plan, the Town will begin a program to permit those refuse haulers or carters who are engaged in the business of collection, pick-up, transfer, removal and/or the disposal of solid waste and /or recyclables within the Town.  The Town will require basic disposal information with the permit process so that the Town can better monitor, and track and more effectively develop policy with improved understanding of the needs and best interests of the Southampton Community.
