Hampton Bays Water District Press Release

Some residents of the Hampton Bays Water District reported abnormalities today in their household water supply. Water District officials attributed the concerns to recent demands on the hamlet’s water distribution system, noting that it struggled at times to maintain normal levels.

Similar issues were reported in water districts throughout Long Island, but in Hampton Bays, three water wells had been previously taken offline until filtration system upgrades were completed over the next few weeks.

In the meantime, the District says the local water remains potable and “absolutely fine” to drink.
