Just in time for the summer season, the Southampton Town Parks and Recreation Department is planning some improvements to several parks and beaches to expand recreational activities for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Those improvements include:

Hamptons West Park-(Westhampton):
An aging playground will be replaced with a new playground that resembles a Coast Guard ship and swings.  All four tennis courts and the basketball court will be resurfaced.  There will be extensive fence repairs and a deer fence will be erected around the perimeter of the park.

Red Creek Park-(Hampton Bays):
Hundreds of dying Pine Trees affected by the Southern Pine Beetle infestation will be removed under a New York State DEC grant.

Good Ground Park-(Hampton Bays):
A new children’s playground geared toward 5 to 12 year olds will be built next to the toddler playground.  The playground will have built in shade structures to protect children from the mid-day sun.  In addition, the first section of wooded trails around the park will be cleared.

North Sea Park-(North Sea):
The natural turf baseball field will be reconstructed and a new ADA accessible precast restroom will be installed.

Southampton Meadows-(Southampton) The Tennis Courts will be resurfaced.

The total cost of the Parks Improvement projects is $379,807.84 and was included as part of the approved 2018 budget.
